Bright Morning

light from sun’s bright flames
kisses distant mountaintops,
waking sounds of dawn

Waking up to urban sounds, but thinking of late-rising birds that sing greetings to the bright sunlight peeking through tree branches, mountains to the east that allow shadows to linger.
