“The End of Human History”

Bodies stacked in fields wait
for workers who do not return.
Why, when all will soon be dead,
rob carrion crows of one last feast?

A bit morbid, I suppose, but riffing off recent articles about climate change and the possible ending of human civilization. Although one might reflect on whether “civilization” is already dissolving around us.
