Mucking around in the archives – TAW Poem

Long ago and far away, I facilitated an online group going through The Artist’s Way.

Traveling “The Artist’s Way” (1996)
by Elizabeth Bennefeld

Does The Artist’s Way grow dreary?
Does its pavement hurt your feet?
Then turn onto uncommon paths
to see whom you might meet.

The frog sits on his lily pad,
a mousey in her hole,
and butterflies are drawing on
the sky which is their scroll.

Come, settle in and stay awhile
beneath this spreading tree,
and ponder all you’ve gained as you
have struggled to be free.

And if a fearsome monster rears
its head and threatens you,
just bash it with your “morning” book.
That’s all you have to do!

Note: The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron, is a popular “12-step recovery program” for creative people.
