Weather Contrasts

Sixty-mile-per-hour winds with snow are forecast for tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night. Part of me is glad, remembering childhood snow days and staying home from school to go sledding on new snowdrifts piled in our two-lot yard. Now my first thought is whether it is too much work to walk the path to the backyard gazebo, no matter how much I may yearn for sounds of wind and raindrops on the roof.

Watching the rain through
gazebo windows, thinking
of Monday’s blizzard…

The temperature in the gazebo was already at 50°F before I turned on the space heater.
